Description: This medal set was housed in a plastic clam shell case with a green foam underneath. The coins sat for decades untouched and the foam eventually broke down and melded into the medals. One side is beautiful showcasing the two different sides of the medals. One is, what appears to be a proof? or a very shiny medal (left side in first picture) and the other appears to be a antiqued bronze medal. The proof? medal didn't really attach to the foam like the other one did as much. Some of the foam is still there. I only lightly removed the foam, I could remove more but I wanted to be as careful as possible not to damage the coin. I believe it could be cleaned or at the very least much better without any damage. I figured I'd leave that to the next owner, if they so choose! I know certain types of cleaning can take away from the coins original patina and luster and I don't want to mess with the orginality of the medals. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.
