Description: THIS BOOK HAS BEEN UNDER SEAL FOR FOUR DECADES. When I found this, it was shrinkwrapped. I really wanted to leave it that way, but I didn’t know what-all was in the box. It seemed highly unlikely that the book was the shape and size shown in the first picture. So I unwrapped it, took the box out of its slipcase, and, in addition to a new book, copyright 1985, and with a price of $14.95 on the flap, I found a cassette tape, presumably a reading of the book. Now, in 1985, CDs were the hottest new thing. I doubt that this would have been issued in cassette tape form even one year later. I don’t expect there to be much demand for a cassette tape reading of this book, but it’s all part of a collectible set, and the box has been under seal and the BOOK has been under seal since 1985. The cassette tape is still shrinkwrapped and the book itself is very fine. The slipcase is a little convex after 40 years. 1985 was the first year this book was published with new illustrations by Trina Schart Hyman. The book is lavishly illustrated in both color and black-and-white. The book is 6“ x 9 1/4“. The box is 13“ x 6 1/2“. See all pictures. This lot will be packed and shipped with great care.
