Description: I have 4 different items in Burmese Red Lacquer up for sale. This is #4 of 4 This Burmese Lacquer square serving platter tray is about 11 inches square and about 3/4 inches tall. Made from wood, hand-made and hand-lacquered with traditional red and black, with green and yellow. The beautiful platter decoration depicts the 8 different animals of the ancient Mahabote Zodiac (Garuda bird, Tiger, Lion, Elephant with tusks, Elephant without tusks, Rat, Guinea Pig, and Dragon) surrounding a Peacock in the center. The bottom and sides are undecorated black lacquer. This piece does have 3-4 chips on the top edges and an unfortunate small gouge in one corner which is detailed in the last picture. My family lived in Burma in the 1970's so its at least that old, but most likely much older. Please see all the pictures! PRICE INCLUDES SHIPPING COST. No returns on this item.
