Description: This is a quilt I am selling for a family member who is originally from the Raleigh, North Carolina area. She found it under her bed in a bag and had forgotten that she even had it and she doesn’t know remember where it came from. I am going to do my best to describe it as I see it. The top appears all hand stitched and the fabric is in good condition. There is some staining and a few holes which I have pointed out. The fabric is typical late 1800s early 1900s. It’s a thick quilt. The back is a pink feed sack and I can’t tell if they put another back on top of a back that was already there. Possibly the first back was not in good condition and someone added another backing just to preserve the quilt. The stitching doesn’t go through to the pink. I have included several pictures so you can get an idea of the condition. I did wash it in the bathtub and air dried it outside. I don’t believe it’s been used very much. There are a few places on the back that have been repaired which I’ve also pictured. This would definitely look fabulous folded over a banister, or a chair. I wouldn’t want to hide the pattern too much because of the beautiful design on the front. It is a beauty, a little primitive, but someone did a good job. Measures 78” x 75”. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
