Description: This is an extremely rare original single Union Playing Card from the Civil War. It was printed in New York by the American Card Company in 1862. Union Playing Cards used eagles, shields, stars, and flags as the suits. Goddesses of Liberty replaced the queens. Army colonels were the kings and army majors were the jacks. Any cards from this deck are rare and valuable, but these court cards are especially desirable because of their beauty and detail! The condition is very good. There is some minor wear from play. See pictures for best description of condition. Each of my Union Playing Cards are encapsulated in a high quality, archival screw down case that protects and beautifully displays the card. Don’t miss this opportunity to get a playing card that was undoubtedly used by soldiers during the Civil War!
