Description: Up for sale here is this recap kit for the Heathkit IP-27. At this point these are around 55 years old, and the old parts are weak and failing, with leaky capacitors. We will make them new again! This kit includes replacement Supertech axial electrolytic and MPT film capacitors, one Epcos snap-in capacitor, one Nichicon radial capacitor, two Chemi-Con radial capacitors, one resistor, 9 diodes (1 zener), one new capacitor mounting clamp, and one capacitor adapter plate to help replace the can capacitor. There is also a set of instructions included to explain how to install everything. You will get the exact parts shown in the picture. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same parts I use when I rebuild vintage gear. The IP-27 needs a small modification in order to work the best, and this kit includes the parts to make that modification. The old 3000 uf capacitor is replaced with a new 3300 uf 100v cap and a clamp to help mount it--you'll need to reuse the nut/bolt from the old clamp. The 40 uf sections of the can cap are upgraded to 56 uf, which won't be an issue. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but this is somewhat complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron. This kit will not fix everything that could be wrong with your equipment, but it will certainly help. Please see my pictures for details.
