Description: Fantastic RARE Estate Sale find, a handmade *Rare* Salt Glazed heavy stoneware crock milk jug/pitcher with a unique seashell type motif around the middle. A wonderful piece of history to add to your collection! No marking/name that I can locate anywhere and hard to find any to compare it to. It was purchased from a sale in the western part of Illinois, so could *possibly* be early Ripley but of course could have been brought to the area from anywhere so that is just a possibility. Not an expert!! It is an off white/beige/gray color and very heavy at just under 4 pounds, very sturdy and the squatty shape is striking on display!! She stands roughly 7 1/2” tall, and about the same across from handle to belly as it is a bit hard to get exact measurement. I have highlited any ‘imperfect’ areas etc but considering the age and being handmade, these areas are expected and definitely add to the charm. it is in wonderful overall antique condition. Don’t miss the opportunity to add this rare piece of history to your collection!! Please ask any questions as I am not an expert. If uncertain about or you would like a closer look at something I am happy to send along any other photos or answer any questions!! Thank you for looking!
