Description: This is from May 1979 featuring "The Man Who Destroyed The Universe!" by Steve Apollo, Paul Levitz, and Dave Hunt. Brainiac 5 created Omega and the Legion can't stop him...even with Wildfire blowing up their headquarters. Brainiac 5 agrees to stop him if he is given ultimate power. He does so by having Matter-Eater Lad eat the Miracle Machine which Brainiac 5 used to create Omega. This, however, drives ME Lad insane as even he cannot digest the ultimate power source.
