Vintage 1920's Handmade Americana Oak Child's Stool

Description: This wonderful Americana child's stool was made in 1920's California. As it was hand crafted, and well used, it is not in perfect condition. However, this adds to it decorative charm. It is heavy, weighing approximately 4 pounds 12 ounces. The oak pieces used to craft this stool are approximately 1" thick. The metal brace is original, as are all of the bottom screws. The only change that was made to it structurally, was the replacement of the two side bolts, which attach the legs to the brace. I do not know when these were replaced. This piece has been in storage for many decades. My best guess is that they may have been replaced for use by grandchildren sometime in the 1990's. It was probably stained or re-stained at some point in time. The seat measures approximately 12" in length and 9" in width. It stands approximately 8" high. I tried to photograph as many aspects as possible, so, that the condition can be viewed. There are gaps between the legs and the seat, which can be seen in photographs 9 and 10.
