The logo likely belonged to or my father obtained it from his first cousin, Dick Grant, a talented athlete who played baseball at Notre Dame in 1942 and 1943, and for whom my father, himself a ballplayer, not surprisingly had a great deal of admiration; he still talks about him today. Dick Grant then enlisted in the armed forces and trained as a fighter pilot. By the time he was shipped to Europe in 1944, however, the march to Berlin was well under way and the Allies needed boots on the ground. Dick Grant was transferred to an infantry division and was killed by enemy fire on Thanksgiving Day, 1944. Felt logo measures 2” x 1 7/8”. Items are stored in a smoke-free environment.
