Vintage 1960's Zodiac Sea Wolf Diver w/Patina,Signed Crown,Runs FOR PARTS/REPAIR

Description: ***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR ONLY - Although the automatic movement runs after the watch has been gently spun face down on a flat surface the crown/stem does not engage the movement when being wound nor does it engage the hands, not allowing for the date/time to be set. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.***********This vintage 1960's Zodiac Sea Wolf, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a lovely "SWISS" only signed dial that has aged naturally and uniquely over time to a champagne hue. The original lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow only at the 12/6/9 dial markers after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The bezel shows considerable wear and cannot be rotated, likely due to gunk buildup underneath. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear and oxidation/pitting. The outside of the case back is stamped "ZODIAC SEAWOLF WATER - TESTED 20 ATM - ESPECIALLY." Between the lugs at 6 o'clock are the stamped numbers "1506999." The crystal should be replaced. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale I don't feel comfortable removing the case back on this watch. The case back on Sea Wolf's are notoriously difficult to remove and should be done by a skilled watchmaker familiar with how to do so in order to avoid causing damage. However, although the crown/stem is intact it does not engage the movement when being wound nor does it engage the hands, not allowing for the date/time to be set. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 38 mm including the crown and approximately 17.75 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 7 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 9.5 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 43 mm. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now.
