Description: Beautiful hand-woven wool kilim saddle bag with bright colors and patterns. The front features two large bags adorned with a complex diamond pattern in blue, yellow, black and white over a bright red background. The back is a series of stripes in various widths, colors and patterns. This is in an authentic tribal pattern with traditional construction. It would have been used to carry babies or other items. The design is intended to drape over a mule or camel and all for transport of all kinds of goods. The kilim weave and wool makes it extremely durable. It is an interesting piece and will make a nice wall covering or display piece. The provenance of this bag is not known. It is estimated to have been made in the early to mid 20th century or earlier, probably in Turkey, or a nearby middle-eastern country. It measures 48" x 16". very nice!
