Description: MONOPOLY 1936/47 "SINGLE PATENT CHICAGO #6 BLUE BOX" ORIGINAL & COMPLETE No Game Board Offering a rare, old, complete Monopoly Board game from the 1940's. This is what collectors call a "Single Patent Chicago #6 Blue Box" Edition. Game was produced around 1947. In 1940, Parker Brothers built a new factory in Chicago and wanted to emphasize that on their packaging, so Chicago was added replacing London on their labels for a brief time, starting in 1940. Also, Lizzy Magie's 1924 'Landlord's Game' patent, the 'original' Monopoly, expired in 1941, so that patent number was eventually dropped from Parker's packaging labels, starting in 1941. The fact that this game has the 'single' patent listed, as well as the Chicago address, means that it was produced in the 1940's. A bit after the war. It is very collectible. The "#6 Blue Box" is just the name for this style of game. It was one of the standard editions of Monopoly at the time, but the rarity is that it's a Single Patent number box AND lists Chicago instead of London. This game is COMPLETE with all the proper Title Deeds, 'Chance' & 'Community Chest' cards, Money, Wooden property, and vintage classic tokens. Deeds, cards and box show wear. This listing does NOT include the game board. Please see photos as part of description.
