Description: This is a vintage Vernon Kilns Frontier Days tall beverage tumbler / drinking glass with a rim chip, as shown in 3rd and last photos. The chip is approx. 1/2" in diameter. It is on the outer part of the rim -- it does not go through to the cup's interior. Note: I have multiple "perfect" tumblers for sale at eBay item #235695990768. This single piece is offered at a discount due to the chip as seen in the last photograph. Decorated with scene of cowboys branding the herd, with cattle drive in the background. This pattern is hand-painted in what is known as "clobbered" transferware -- which means the colors were hand-painted on top of the brown transferred printed design. Vernon Kilns produced the Winchester '73 pattern in 1950 to coincide with the release of Universal International's picture of the same name. It was produced until 1953 when the name was changed to Frontier Days, which was produced until 1954.I am listing a full set of this pattern over the next few days. Most pieces have the older "Winchester 73" hallmark. All hallmarks say “Hand Painted Under Glaze” and “Vernon Kilns – California U.S.A.” The patterns are identical. This piece has the Winchester 73 hallmark.Dimensions: 3.25" diameter at top, 2-3/8" base diameter. 5.5" tall. Condition: Decent usable condition. Mentionable issue: rim chip as shown in 3rd and last photos (approx. 1/2" diameter). No crazing or discoloration. Paint intact without erosion. No other chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, cracks, hairlines, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. Colored transfers and clobbed overpainting are intact, with good color, no scratches or erosion. Unpacked weight: 8 oz. Note some photos appear redundant because I take photos from all possible angles. On symmetrical items, these photos may appear redundant when there are no distinguishing differences or condition issues between side views. I gladly accept returns, but please note I do not pay return postage unless there was a significant error in my description. The item listed is being sold as is, as pictured and as described to the best of my knowledge. All dimensions and weights approximate. If you have a question or an assumption on an item prior to purchase, please ask. I much prefer to take the time on the front end to make sure you will be satisfied with your purchase. Remember, when buying vintage expect imperfections as these items have a history and have been in the possession of others. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.
